Alan Shearer Feels Newcastle 'Absurd ´ In Claiming Alexander
Newcastle have made themselves look "ridiculous" in declaring star striker Alexander Isak is hurt, former Magpies forward Alan Shearer has said, amidst reports he wants to check out a relocation away from the club.
Newcastle launched a statement on Thursday morning to state the Swede would miss the club's pre-season trip of Asia due to a small thigh problem.
Hours later, reports emerged that Isak had informed club executives he wanted to explore the possibility of a transfer, amid reported interest from .
Shearer, a Betfair Ambassador, said: "It's absurd what Newcastle put out today to say he wasn't on the journey because of a slight thigh injury.
Eddie Howe has a nearly fully-fit team to select from, nevertheless Alexander Isak misses out on out with a small thigh injury.

"If they thought people wouldn't see through that ... it was frustrating. They must have simply informed the reality immediately. I understand it's a very tough situation for them, however it is what it is.
"(Magpies head coach) Eddie Howe needs to use all his convincing powers to do what he can and try to make him remain at least one more year. If that can't occur then it is what it is.
"You need to get the best offer for the football club and if somebody is prepared to pay north of ₤ 150million, and if he actually, actually wishes to go, you can't action in his way."
Newcastle have so far not commented on the reports around Isak's desire to leave.

Isak's 23 Premier League objectives last season made him one of the world's most popular residential or commercial properties, and he has been related to Liverpool in current weeks.
Isak still has 3 years left on his contract at Newcastle, who he participated the summer season of 2022 from Spanish side Real Sociedad.
