"We have had in place for a long time services that are readily available to players that receive hazards of this kind in terms of supplying assistance through police," he said. "We do take it as a really major problem and do offer support on a continuous basis."

Manfred avoided going over management's positions in cumulative bargaining for a labor contract to replace the offer that ends in December 2026 and whether MLB plans to push for a wage cap system.

"We have a substantial sector of our fans that have been singing about the problem of competitive balance and in general we try to focus on our fans, so it is a subject of discussion," was the most he would state.

MLB is expected to lock out gamers on Dec. 2, 2026, in order to try to get an arrangement without shortening the 2027 season.

"There has actually never ever been a lost video game considering that I ended up being involved as a staff member of baseball and it is my goal to get this next one done keeping that record intact," stated Manfred, who joined the MLB staff in 1998. "It ´ s a lot of work to be done between once in a while, however that ´ s my objective."
